In 2001, Amtrak was looking to replace its tired fleet of F40PH's which were nearly 26 years old. Amtrak was looking for a locomotive which could pull long passenger trains and believe it or not freight as well. That is where the Genesis Series came in. The Genesis Series was delivered in 2001 weighing 268,400 lbs. The Genesis has a top speed of 122 m.p.h. in revenue service. The Genesis was 52% more fuel efficient than any other diesel locomotive on the rails. The locomotive has a maximum power output of 4,250 HP. My locomotive features; adjustable mirrors, opening doors, a fully furnished engine room and cab, and handrails. It contains approximately 935 bricks. Enjoy and happy holidays! There are pictures below of the real locomotive.
