Update #2--Refurbished!
Well, I've been dissatisfied with the passenger cars on my Wanderer for awhile now--and, as I mentioned a few weeks back, I've finally found time to do something about it. The new version of Jim's car has improved versions of the old pool table (you can tell what it's supposed to be now!), desk (which now has a flick-missile instead of a basic, static pistol), and flip-down weapon rack (consolidated to fit on one of the shorter walls). I imagine that tan rectangle on the wall to be a map of the United States, and I'll definitely update the image if I figure out a way of adding the required printing without making it look like a hideous photoshop job. Over in Artie's car, his inventing bench is still the same (though it now has his violin nestled into the corner next to it), but I replaced the old disguise rack with two full-body disguises--and added a fold-out cannon to take out Dr. Loveless' helicopter once and for all! This outer view gives a better look at the cannon, as well as Artie's brilliant disguises.
"Artemus Gordon"? I'm sure I don't know who you're talking about. Sounds like a handsome chap, though.
And finally, an exterior shot of the revised Wanderer in all her glory:
Preview for Update 2
As my lack of activity here for the past few months would indicate, I've been pretty busy lately. As a result, I've been neglecting this project a lot more than I should--but I'm glad to say that's over, because I am now officially in the process of giving the passenger cars a much-needed overhaul. They're not quite finished yet, but you folks have been patient long enough, so I thought I'd give you a glimpse of where I'm at. I'm not sure you can see what's going on from the screenshot, but I promise when it's finished the interiors will be worlds better!
Update 1--Wheels
First of all, a big thanks to everyone who helped us get to 111 supports--especially those of you who helped spread the word around the internet! We've got a ways to go yet, though, so I'd encourage any supporters who haven't shared this project yet to do so. Sharing is the next best thing to being able to support twice!
Anyway, something that's been bugging me for a while about my Wanderer is the wheels on the engine--the train from the original show had four wheels per side, not five. Therefore:
(And, since the site seems to want to crop the picture, you can also see it here.)
Just a little aesthetic change, but I think it's a notable improvement.
That's it for now, but you can certainly expect more in the future. Thanks again to everyone who deemed the Wanderer worthy of support!
