Update #7 - A bit of a stall
588 supporters is awesome, but it seems the project has stalled a bit. In an effort to help reinvigorate interest, I've taken a new photo of Katie visiting the Ten Wheeler in its engine shed.
If you like this project, please share wherever you can! Let's fire this locomotive back up!
Update #6 - Milepost 500!
533 supporters! Thank you all!
Update #5 - Happy Valentines!
Holy cow! 476 supporters!
Update #4 - Inspiration
365 supporters now, thanks so much!
Here's a shot of the locomotive that inspired my project - the Texas State Railroad's #201 (Recently repainted to Texas & Pacific #316). Built in 1901, this oil fired 4-6-0 "Ten Wheeler" still operates here in my home state of Texas and is the oldest locomotive at the Texas State Railroad. She's also the only remaining operational locomotive of the Texas & Pacific. This photo is from when I took my wife and son to ride the Texas State Railroad one spring afternoon (though we didn't get to ride behind #201).
Update #3 - Digital Render
314 supporters - considering this is a non licensed train idea, that's phenomenal! Here's a digital render of the model for which I used to sell instructions. Notice the tender is an oil tender, rather than coal. This design also lacks any of the curved tubing of the physical model.
Update #2 - Video!
Thank you everyone, as I type this I have 269 supporters!
Several have asked for a video of the locomotive in action - so here it is:
Enjoy!
Update #1 - More Photos
Wow! 143 supporters in two days, I want to thank you all very much! I've decided to add a few more photos and give you all a better idea of the different aspects of my model.
Enjoy!
