Updates on engine bay and more
Hey everyone, I'm back! It's been a long time since I posted this, so I'll show you where I've been working on lately.
First of all, thanks so much for all the support! Just a few hundred more and it's over a thousand!
This car has undergone a lot of changes. Nothing with the bodywork, but the entire engine compartment has been redone. The car also has a 2 stud wider windshield, the bucket seats have a better looking headrest, I also added a gas tank at the rear, and there is even more.
Do you also know about illegal building? It's about making wrong connections with LEGO parts. Even for a car this big, it doesn't have any of that. I think LEGO won't produce a set with illegal building, so then they will have to make some changes to your creation. Let's start with the pictures.
Now let's see how it looks under the hood...
Here she is! The big 426 Hemi! The real Hemi was factory rated at 425 hp.
They also called this engine: the elephant. No explanation needed.
Before these updates, the car had a huge steering mechanism and also suspension at the front. This was a problem for the LEGO Technic V8 because it couldn't fit in the car. Too bad that it couldn't fit because that engine was the reason for building the car in this scale.
So, I removed the suspension and steering at the front, and threw in the V8. I tried to find a simple way for the steering around the engine whitout the suspension, and I did it with success. Then I gave the whole engine compartment some more details. Inner fenders, firewall, and engine details. I think it's a huge improvement the way it looks now.
This is my favorite picture from the engine. With the shaker hood scoop removed from the dual four barrels. Now you can see all the details better. Everything is supposed to look like the factory style. Here is a list of all the details:
-LEGO Technic V8 with crankshaft, rods, and pistons
-Orange cylinder heads and intake manifold
-The giant black Hemi valve covers
-Breather hose and PCV hose
-Dual four barrels
-Spark plug wires and distributor
-Ignition coil
-Heater hoses
-Master cylinder
-Wiper washer bottle
-Wiper motor
-Dual horns
-Mopar battery
-Radiator (only with the upper hose)
-Belt driven fan, alternator, and crank pulley
-Starter motor
I think that's pretty much it.
Some pictures of the interior...
The car also has better closing doors. The doors open and close very easy now and is hold with studs when closed. Also, the gauge panel at the drivers side is now reddish brown. Which gives it the looks of the "rallye dash".
There is also more space in the trunk than before.
Everything open...
This is the underside. You can see the engine with the transmission behind it. The transmission is supposed to be a 4 speed manual. You can also see the gas tank at the rear. The suspension at the front is gone because of the giant engine, but there is still suspension at the rear of course.
I hope you like it! That were all the updates for this car. I think I can call the car finished for now...
Thanks again for everyone who supported this 'Cuda! I really appreciate it!
