Fender Stratocaster Tribute: 1953-2021
Presenting... Lego's largest 1-piece guitar! :)
This model contains exactly 490 pieces. The giant guitar is 5 times larger than the regular minifigure size. The 12x6 stud "Fender" tile and the design on the guitars were custom made using Studio's part designer. An interesting feature about this model is that the background "Stratocaster" tiles can be read both horizontally and vertically.
Another interesting aspect of this model are the date tiles at the bottom right. Fender's Stratocaster was a work-in-progress, so there is not actually a crystal-clear date for the creation of the guitar. While it was not made widely available to the public until 1954, I decided to use the year 1953 to represent the year that the official (and now legendary) "Stratocaster" name was given to the instrument.
This model also features two guitarists with their Stratocasters. I appreciate that Fender makes these iconic guitars in so many colors and wanted to reflect that in the model.
Thanks for reading!
