NASA M2M Solar m.Shuttle

Introducing the NASA M2M Solar m.Shuttle, or Moon-2-Mars Solar mini.Shuttle, a manned spacecraft capable of making the journey from Moon to Mars, using Solar power.

Its small size and maximum solar panel coverage allow it to make the journey faster than larger craft, making it to mars in ~3 months. Due to the long journey, the Shuttle is equipped with hibernation technology, allowing Astronauts to stay in a suspended state while in transit, reducing the amount of resources in cargo, such as food and other necessities, which will already be waiting on Mars when the Shuttle makes rendezvous on Mars, having already been delivered by unmanned cargo craft.

I approached this build wanting to make something less conventional, but still eye-catching and functional. I opted to use the traditional LEGO Space color palette of White, Orange, and Dark Blue, to blend in with already existing Space play sets. While the "science" isn't very sound, it's fun to imagine, and the Shuttle just looks cool.
