“Coming to America is a 1988 American romantic comedy film directed by John Landis and based on a story originally created by Eddie Murphy, who also stars in the lead role.”
This movie was one of my all-time favorites from my childhood, and maybe one of Eddie Murphy´s most popular movies. One of the most memorable scenes was the barbershop scene in which Eddie Murphy acted in several different roles.
The Build
I wanted to create a Lego version of the barbershop scene. To capture the atmosphere of the shop, I decided to make the build as compact as possible, in order to make the room feel cluttered. I added 4 characters from the scene:
- Prince Akeem
- Semmi (friend of Akeem)
- Clarence (barbershop owner)
- Saul (customer)
