It’s time to feel warm inside as we announce the winning submission from our Build from the Heart challenge, that is to become an official LEGO Ideas set!
Back in October, you all cast your votes to choose which submission from the 'Build from the Heart' challenge would be put into production to become the next official LEGO Ideas set. In this challenge, we asked you to get creative and share your vision around love, friendship, and self-care. In collaboration with Target, we asked you to build something that represented your take on Valentine’s Day. Whether it was through a symbol of love, a message from the heart, or a sweet treat, it was all about your vision.
This prompt certainly fired up your brick-building passion as we saw 269 submissions for the challenge. Builds that covered all aspects of kindness, caring, and friendship. It was truly a heartfelt challenge. From teddy bears and café moments to memory-capturing cameras and ring boxes, it was all very impressive!
After the judging phase, five models made it to the Fan Vote… it was time for you to choose the winning submission. Without further ado, it’s time to reveal how that vote went!
Meet the winning submission
A huge congratulations to fan builder ModularManiac with his very charming ‘Love Birds’ model! This depiction of two glorious birds perched on a pink blossom-strewn tree certainly captured the imagination.
In his description of the model, ModularManiac explains how the two birds symbolise the bonds we share with our cherished others and represents the magic of spending time together, as he explains this is the greatest way to deepen a relationship.
Love birds were chosen as they are well known for staying together. So not only is this design a stunning display piece it also has layers, symbolism, and meaning woven through this heart-warming brick-build.
What happens now
This submission will join the other incredible LEGO Ideas products we have in development. Our design team will begin collaborating with ModularManiac to make this set a reality and we'll be sure to let you know more details once we get closer to launch.
