Happy Holidays from the LEGO Ideas Team

Dear LEGO Ideas members,

It's that time of the year again where we get to wish you all a very happy holiday! We hope you've had a great year and wish that 2018 will bring you even more creativity and joy.

With the new year right around the corner, it's always a good time to reflect on the year that's coming to an end - and what a year it's been!

Launching New LEGO Ideas Sets

The year has seen the launch of four amazing LEGO Ideas sets, including 21308 Adventure Time, 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V, 21310 Old Fishing Store as well as, and most recently, 21311 Women of NASA! In many ways, these sets have expanded the boundaries of what a LEGO Ideas set can be and has shown, once again, the sublime creativity that comes out of the passionate LEGO fan community.

It's creativity that we continue to see and it excites us to share more amazing fan designed sets with you in 2018 through upcoming sets such as Ship In A Bottle: The Flagship Leviathan, Tron Legacy Light Cycle & Voltron: Defender of the Universe. In fact, you can already get excited about the next LEGO Ideas set that will launch in early 2018. More will be revealed in due time ;-)

While we launch new sets, we must also say goodbye to others that will be retiring soon. These include 21306 Yellow Submarine, 21307 Caterham Seven 620R and 21308 Adventure Time. Thank you to the fan designers Kevin Szeto, Carl Greatrix and Ludovic Piraud who joined us on the adventure of creating these 3 beautiful LEGO Ideas sets!

Improving and Evolving the LEGO Ideas Experience

Although new LEGO Ideas sets are always some of the best moments of the year, we've also continued to evolve and improve the LEGO Ideas online experience! 2017 has seen us test new and exciting platform technologies through the Test Lab at the beginning of the year and then again through Contest Beta recently. It's very exciting for us to test and learn more about what our current platform is capable of and what that might mean for you all in the future.

We've also fine-tuned the online experience throughout the year in a variety of ways, ranging from bigger guideline changes to more subtle refinements of the visible user experience. These are things that we will continue to work on throughout 2018 as we learn more about how members use the site as well as what we are able to do product wise.

More Awesome Content

2017 has also been a year where we have focused even more on delivering more cool LEGO Ideas content to you. To name a few of the initiatives, the year has seen an improved Weekly Digest, new LEGO designer videos as well as much more and better coverage of our signing events, including exclusive giveaways. In 2018, we'll continue our pursuit of being able to celebrate you, the LEGO Ideas community, even more.
